Beth’s background in newspaper reporting and copy editing helped her to become competent in English grammar, style and legal issues. She also uses her experience in book editing to assist writers and authors. Beth earned a degree from the University of South Carolina College of Journalism and Mass Communications and the South Carolina Honors College, concurrently.
After a brief career in reporting and newspaper editing, Beth has entertained responsibilities in public relations, administration, and business ownership. No matter what her job was, she always found herself editing for coworkers and contributing articles to company newsletters. Because of her diverse background, Beth is familiar with sales and marketing, writing to persuade, and writing with a specific “voice”. One of Beth’s strengths is understanding grammar rules and applying them when appropriate without disrupting characters’ personalities and voices.
Beth enjoys copy editing and proofreading to tighten and strengthen manuscripts.
